About me
Shaniece Bradford is a purpose-driven community leader and Director of Community Engagement at ReadyKids, where she has served since March 2023, building collaborative partnerships that strengthen families and advance children’s well-being across Central Virginia. She bridges programs and community awareness, connecting families to trauma-informed and teen counseling, family support services, Ready Steps neighborhood playgroups, and Early Childhood Head Start programming. Shaniece also co-leads organizational efforts centered on inclusion and belonging, expanding opportunities, and deepening youth and family engagement. In addition, she coordinates the annual KidChella Block Party, a large-scale family wellness event welcoming more than 700 attendees each year, along with other positive youth development initiatives that foster connection, creativity, and community support.
Her work is grounded in both prevention and reentry support. Shaniece began supervising the Engaged Fathers & Men (formerly Real Dads), originally focused on reconnecting incarcerated fathers with their children, which transitioned in July 2025 to a community-based model supporting fathers and male caregivers through peer connection and navigation. Prior to ReadyKids, she worked from 2015 to 2018 at the Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office as a Victim Witness Advocate and also worked as a Rural Legal Advocate at The Shelter for Help in Emergency. Known for her empathetic and systems-minded leadership, Shaniece serves on several local committees focused on youth empowerment and community well-being. Her mission remains clear: to build bridges between people, programs, and possibility, creating spaces where every child and family feels seen, supported, and equipped to thrive.
