About me
Gil Perkins (doing business as Sage Salvo) developed a digital platform as a service (PaaS), called The Opus App, to engineer a new learning ecosystem where Opus facilitates the mass collaboration between media, music artists, and classrooms for purposes of automating customized lesson plans for students’ literacy instruction. Salvo is the award-winning social-entrepreneur founder of Words Liive and the 2022 Milken-Penn Education Business Grand Prize Winner! Sage is also a 2025 Pahara Fellow, and a 2023 a16z Talent x Opportunity entrepreneur receiving Pre-SEED investment from Andreessen Horowitz.
Sage’s start-up, Words Liive, is a futuristic education technology start-up, organized around a ‘Literacy Moonshot’ goal to get 3/4ths of the nation’s students to grade-level reading proficiency by the year 2045. He’s raised over three-quarters of a million dollars for Words Liive to develop the Opus App, substantiated by a custom and proprietary LLM, to power a new Platform as a Service (PaaS) technology that allows for on-demand and real-time lesson development, discovery, and sharing of unique literacy lessons that integrate popular song lyrics and other contemporary texts into existing reading and writing instruction. The Opus App was a 2022 Invention of the Year Nominee by the Technical.ly Awards.
