About me
Jenny Lynn Walding’s personal breastfeeding challenges abroad inspired the creation of milkmade. Despite exclusively breastfeeding her firstborn, her daughter became malnourished and failed to thrive due to an undiagnosed tongue tie that limited effective milk transfer. This experience exposed a critical gap: there is no real-time, objective way to measure milk intake during breastfeeding.
After timely intervention restored their breastfeeding journey, Jenny Lynn recognized the opportunity to transform outcomes through better data and earlier support. Leveraging her experience in software, manufacturing, and HealthTech, she developed milkmade—a patent-pending smart nipple shield that measures milk flow and infant latch quality in real time. Integrated with a mobile platform and lactation support, milkmade delivers actionable insights to parents and providers, enabling earlier intervention and improving breastfeeding outcomes at scale.
