About me
Ashley Davies is Vice President of Riverbend Development and a member of the Board of Directors for the CAAR Foundation. With a history in both public sector and private sector roles, she has extensive experience in Urban Planning and project management. In her role at Riverbend, Ms. Davies specializes in all aspects of project entitlements and community engagement. Through her previous work as Zoning Administrator and Neighborhood Planner for the City of Charlottesville, she is adept with code interpretation, project review and consensus building. As Chair of the Chamber of Commerce Charlottesville Area Development Roundtable (CADRe), she focused on the creation of great places in her community through purposefully shaping the built environment. Ms. Davies is deeply interested in the practical application of high-quality design and sustainability.
Ashley has worked collaboratively with neighborhood groups and citizen stakeholders in various communities throughout Virginia for over 20 years. Ms. Davies has led numerous large scale community engagement efforts for a variety of Master Planning and Comprehensive Planning efforts. Her current focus is a unique partnership with the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. As Managing Member of the Affordable Housing Group, she provides pro-bono assistance and management of the resident-led redevelopment of the CRHA housing portfolio. This unique and innovative effort places public housing residents at the forefront of designing future neighborhoods where all can thrive. Because of this work, hundreds of new deeply affordable units will be available to the community, while also creating the first new public housing units in Charlottesville in over 45 years.
Ms. Davies has a Master of Environmental Planning and a Bachelor of Architectural History, both from the University of Virginia. She has happily resided in Charlottesville since completing her Master’s degree and derives great joy from participating in planning efforts that have a positive impact on the community.
