About me
Amy Xu is a second-year student at the University of Virginia studying Public Policy and Leadership at the Batten School, with a focus on health policy. On campus, Amy founded Muay Thai at UVA during her first year, a student organization created to provide free access to Muay Thai training for all students. Under her leadership, the organization has grown to serve over 300 students, with instruction led entirely by trained UVA student coaches. Through this initiative, she has worked to remove financial barriers to fitness and foster an inclusive, community-driven environment.
In addition to her work with Muay Thai at UVA, Amy serves as Director of Membership for Kappa Omega Alpha, where she focuses on recruitment and member engagement. She is also a Program Director for Rise Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting first-generation, low-income high school students through the college application process. In this role, she helps design and implement programming that equips students with the resources and guidance needed to access higher education.
