About me
Abby Fifer Mandell is the Director of the Galant Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the McIntire School of Commerce and Senior Lecturer of Commerce, General Faculty. Prior to joining the faculty at McIntire, Abby served for 17 years at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, where she lectured in entrepreneurship and directed the Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab; co-taught the Min Family Challenge with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship group at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering; produced the USC Social Venture Coaching Competition (SVCC); and co-produced the Aging is Now | Aging is the Future Entrepreneurship Symposium. Abby received a 2023 USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Students and a 2025 USC Marshall Golden Apple Award and in 2018, she won the Academy of Management Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy Award. Abby has mentored and coached hundreds of startup founders. She is a frequent lecturer and workshop facilitator and advises civic organizations and corporate entities on user-centered design and strategy.
