This Earth Day, the Blue Ridge region's most passionate stewards of land, community, and culture are coming together for an evening that's equal parts celebration and call to action.
Thistlerock Mead Company, Oakencroft Farm & Winery, and Violet Crown Cinemas invite you to the Charlottesville premiere of Bee:Wild — the new documentary from Rebecca and Josh Tickell, the acclaimed filmmakers behind Kiss the Ground. Shot across continents and hives, Bee:Wild pulls back the veil on the secret lives of wild bees and the regenerative ecosystems that depend on them, weaving together science, wonder, and urgency into a story that feels both ancient and immediate. Narrated by Ellie Goulding with a cameo from Angelina Jolie.
Following the screening, join local and state voices from the regenerative agriculture and conservation community for a candid panel discussion on what we stand to lose — and what we can still protect — as pollinator populations face unprecedented pressure.
The evening concludes with an exclusive VIP cocktail reception, where guests will mingle over honey meads from Thistlerock's regenerative flower farm and wines from Oakencroft's historic Charlottesville vineyards — a living toast to the very pollinators at the heart of the film.
Whether you're a beekeeper, a farmer, a filmmaker, or simply someone who cares about the world beyond their backyard, this is an evening worth gathering for.
