In a time when civic engagement can feel overwhelming, polarizing, or risky, courage often shows up not as grand gestures—but as everyday choices: to listen, to stay engaged, to speak with care, and to remain curious across differences.
This interactive Civic Circles session invites participants into a facilitated, small-group dialogue exploring what courage looks like in civic life today—in our communities, our neighborhoods, and our daily interactions. Grounded in the Tom Tom Festival’s 2026 theme of COURAGE, the session creates space for participants to reflect, listen, and learn from one another through shared stories and thoughtful conversation.
Rather than debating issues or advocating positions, Civic Circles focus on human experience, dialogue, and connection—helping participants recognize how courage is cultivated and practiced in ways that strengthen our shared future.
Participants will explore questions such as:
- What does courage mean to you at this moment?
- Where are bravery and resilience most needed in our civic lives today?
- When have you seen neighbors bridge divides or spark meaningful dialogue?
- What small, courageous civic actions help communities thrive?
