This panel begins with a brief overview of impact investing, defined by the Global Impact Investing Network as “investments made with the intention to generate positive, measurable social or environmental impact alongside financial return.”

The panel will then highlight three Virginia-based organizations involved with impact investing in the respective areas of regenerative agriculture, small business lending, and affordable housing. Each panelist will share about the work of their respective organizations and how impact investing can help further their mission, alongside and in addition to traditional donations. This panel will explore the growth of impact investing in Virginia, as well as obstacles to it, at institutional and individual levels.

This Impact Investing in Virginia panel is for informational purposes only and should not be considered investment advice. Individuals should consult their own advisors to determine if impact investing may be suitable for them.
